What can I expect during my first lash extension appointment?

Lash Envy Studios includes a complete consultation, a thorough cleansing and priming of the eyelashes, and information on how to care for the eyelash extensions. The consultation will include a discussion of your medical history, lifestyle, and desired look so that we have a better understanding of how to make your dream lashes come to life!

How often do I need a touch-up?

Touch-ups for lash extensions vary from person to person. When you care for your lashes properly, eyelash extensions can last up to four weeks. However, you will lose some lashes due to your natural lash cycle. Your natural lashes typically grow out and turn over every 45 to 60 days on average. We recommend coming in every two to three weeks for maintenance — similar to getting your nails done.

How long do touch-up applications take?

Touch-ups take approximately 45 to 60 minutes depending on how many lashes have shed since the last appointment. This includes the cleansing and priming process.

Is my look customized and based on my preferences?

Lash Envy Studios’ goal is to create a customized design and result for each client. Lifestyle, desired look, and preferences are all taken into consideration when designing the your ideal eyelashes. Your stylist will incorporate various lengths, curls, and thicknesses to achieve the desired result. We will never compromise the health of natural lashes, and we will only apply the weight and length of extensions that your natural lashes can accommodate.

Can I still wear makeup?

Yes, however, only oil-free makeup remover should be used. Oils will break down the adhesive, causing your extensions to fall out prematurely. If you plan to wear eyeliner, then avoid gels in pots and most pencils. These products typically contain oil and wax that can break down the adhesive. We can recommend makeup that is safe for use with extensions. Never use waterproof makeup on extensions.

Will eyelash extensions damage my natural eyelashes?

If properly applied, extensions will not damage your natural lashes. Lash Envy Studios takes great pride in ensuring that our stylists are thoroughly trained before they work on our valued clients. If the diameter (or thickness) of the extension is too thick, damage can occur such as thinning, downward growth, or premature natural lash loss. At Lash Envy Studios, we never compromise the integrity of the natural lash, and our goal is to improve your lash cycles and growth, not inhibit. Therefore, we will recommend supplements and products to maintain the health of your lashes, and we never use lashes that are too heavy or use excessive glue as a way of giving you volume.

What are eyelash extensions made of?

Lash extensions are made from synthetic polyester. Synthetic lashes respond better to wear and tear than other materials. Additionally, they have the least likelihood of allergic reactions. Studies have shown that more people will have adverse reactions to lash extensions made from animal hairs such as mink. Mink lashes tend to lose their curl as well.

What are Volume eyelash extensions?

Volume extensions are an extremely advanced technique that only highly trained stylists should offer. Sadly, there are a lot of technicians offering this service, however, they are not correctly trained and are using incorrect techniques or overloading the natural lashes. Unfortunately, we see this far too often, so please be careful when researching your stylist.

At Lash Envy Studios, you can rest assured that our stylists are highly trained and have the skilled needed to perform this advanced technique. The stylist skillfully creates bouquets of eyelash extensions that are then placed onto the natural lash in a fanned effect to create extra fluff, coverage, and fullness that cannot be created with classic extensions. Although we use multiple extensions, the fan is still placed onto one individually isolated natural lash in a method that encases the natural lash, and results in great retention with zero damage.

How do I maintain my eyelash extensions?

Avoid getting your lashes wet for the first 24 hours, this includes avoiding steam showers, facial steamers, and swimming. Additionally, you are not allowed to perm your eyelash extensions after they are applied. Cleanse your eyes with oil-free makeup remover only. Lash Envy Studios, unfortunately, cannot guarantee the extension retention if you do not use our suggested products. Lashes must be cleaned daily and then brushed with a clean mascara wand from the base to the tip while rolling the wand.

What about exercise?

If you exercise, please cleanse your eyelids immediately after your workout, as oil and sweat will affect the retention of the extensions. We recommend a protective coating be used two or three times per week, which creates a protective barrier against water, humidity, tears, oils, perspiration, makeup, dust, and debris.

Are you able to remove and repair poorly applied lashes?

Yes, a consultation is needed to discuss treatment options. Often times, the bad lash work must be removed to apply a new perfect set.

How do I prepare for my appointment?

Contacts and makeup must be removed before the appointment. Supplies are located in the restroom if needed. Please limit caffeine consumption on the day of your appointment. Please silence your phone in order to keep the relaxing atmosphere for all other patrons in the salon. Please do not bring children to the appointment. Keep talking to a minimum and feel free to take a well-deserved nap and wake up to beautiful lashes!
