Your eyebrows are as unique to you as your personality. Some people have dark, thick eyebrows while others may have patchy, light eyebrows. These small patches of hair may seem irrelevant, but eyebrow trends are constantly changing, and recently, more people have decided to make their brows stand out as a part of their overall look.
There are many different ways you can make your brows stand out, from eyebrow pencils to thick gels. However, these methods often take more time that you would like to admit. Luckily, at Lash Envy Studios in Mesa, we offer microblading! This innovative technique provides you with the beautiful brows you’ve always wanted without having to reapply every single day. What Is Microblading?
If you’re looking for a way to get the appearance of uniform, thick, lush eyebrows, then microblading is an excellent option. This treatment uses a semi-permanent tattoo technique to give you the look of having fuller brows. Instead of having to apply gels and pencils every single day, your technician will work with you to create a look that will last for months on end. This is done by making tiny incisions within your brow line where the technician can deposit the pigment. The result are small hair-like strokes that look amazingly natural!
How Does It Work?
Microblading can be applied thick and dark or light and natural, allowing you to customize how your brows will appear. This process is specifically designed to not only make your brows look fuller, but it also allows you to choose the specific shape of your brows. You and the technician will work together to determine how dark and what shape you want your eyebrows to be. From there, the technician will choose a pigment that closely resembles the natural color of your eyebrow hairs and the undertones of your skin.
Once you have decided on the shape, color, and thickness, it’s time to start microblading! The technician uses a tool that looks like a pen to make the tiny incisions on the top layer of your skin. While microblading is compared to a tattoo, there are quite a few differences. For example, tattoo needles penetrate deeper into your skin so that they will last longer. Microblading, on the other hand, only goes into the top-most layer. Additionally, the hair strokes produced by microblading are much finer than those of a tattoo, and the procedure is not as painful.
What Happens After the Procedure?
The microblading procedure can take anywhere from one to two hours depending on how thick you want your eyebrows to appear. That being said, the entire appointment can last even longer depending on how long it takes to do paperwork and consult with the technician.
Once you are done with the microblading procedure, you can expect to have gorgeous, thick eyebrows, and because the pigment is placed under your skin, most microblading procedures last up to 18 months! Within a few days of your procedure, you may notice your eyebrows looking a bit darker, and they may have some peeling. This is a normal part of the healing process, and it may take up to a full month for your brows to heal entirely. Your technician will be able to give you a better estimate of how long the healing process will take, and at what point you should come in for touch-ups if needed.
